Some will be interested to know that Low Park Wood is on the site of a 19thC gunpowder mill.

If you’re a wild flower enthusiast you won’t be disappointed as you’ll see a range of marvellous blooms on display, not least wild orchids. For those who enjoy the sport of fishing, the caravan site also features a river that is popular amongst anglers (with a National River Licence). When you fancy a bite to eat, the nearby market town of Kendal is famous for its mint cake and trusted for its hearty meals.
