4 Winds Lakeland Tipis

4 Winds Lakeland Tipis

Product Description

Camping in a Tipi (Teepee or Wigwam as they are often called) is a truly unique way to lessen your carbon footprint whilst visiting the Lake District.

When the sunshine filters through the canvas or the candlelight flickers across the tall majestic poles supporting this traditional dwelling you will feel a tangible sense of a simpler existence.

The ethos of the North American Indian was to be at one with Grandmother Earth and to respect nature at 4 Winds we also adhere to this ethos.

Our new site is Low Wray National Trust Campsite, close to Ambleside and to the North of Lake Windermere. Within view of the historic and magnificent Low Wray Castle.

Watch the sun rise over England’s largest lake and enjoy the magnificent views across the water to Wansfell Pike and The Fairfield Horseshoe. Situated on the western shore of Windermere, Low Wray is the perfect base for a whole range of outdoor activities. There are opportunities for gentle walks and great off-road biking from the campsite. The quiet country lanes will also prove attractive to cycle tourers. Low Wray is an ideal base for lovers of watersports including windsurfers, canoeists and dinghy sailors, with on-site access for launching. Please note however that there is no access for powered craft.
