A short walk from Bay View, along the canal path, brings you to the pretty village of Bolton-le-Sands. Here you can shop at the friendly local butchers, whose meat and eggs are sourced from local farms. There is also a ‘Spar and Potts Pies’, an award winning pie shop. In addition to the new on-site bar and restaurant, there are also 3 popular pubs in the village, as well as a Chinese, an Indian and a Vietnamese restaurant.

Walking in the other direction along the coast, you will find plenty of places to stop for coffee and home-made cakes. The Potting Shed at Bay View Garden Centre is only 10 minutes away and a little further on is Archers at Red Bank Farm.

The seaside town of Morecambe is 3 miles away and is currently undergoing a period of regeneration, with lots of new shops, restaurants and coffee bars.
There is nowhere better than sitting on the golden coloured sands, looking across the bay at the glorious views of the Lakes mountains.

Historic Lancaster, with its two universities, is a city of learning and a city of stories. It is a city where the past and the present blend. Splendid stone facades hark back to its heyday as a Georgian port and quirky independent shops rub shoulders with a smattering of well-known stores. Museums and monuments are enjoyed by old and young, and bars and restaurants bustle with locals.

For miles and miles around is rolling countryside, dotted with sleepy villages, pretty ports and quiet bays.

Kendal – The ‘Gateway to the Lakes’ is only 15 miles away, and provides good shopping facilities, including a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Kendal has a theatre and cinema, a 13th Century parish church, Abbot Hall Art Gallery, a museum offering a glimpse of Lakeland life throughout the ages – and mint cake – lots of it.

The Lake District – has beautiful landscapes around the Lakes, which are favourites among walkers, while the forests, fells and waterways provide the setting for many sporting activities. Visit historic villages and famous locations such as the former homes of Beatrix Potter, John Ruskin and the poet Wordsworth.
