I have just spent my fourth consecutive year at this site, staying usually for four nights.
The high standard of grounds maintenance still appertains to this site. The complete refurbishment of the toilets however, has meant my overall estimation of the site has dropped somewhat unfortunately, due in the main to the new toilet block.
I do not like the unisex arrangement preferring the previous separate arrangements for male and female. The general level of cleanliness was quite good but the cleaner seems to forget the corners and behind the doors and the rear part of the toilet cubicles when it come to brushing and cleaning. There was only one hook in the entire area – something I think is essential in the shower and toilet cubicles. I also miss the wooden slatted boards to stand on in the shower cubicles. I was unable to use the wash hand basin in one shower cubicle without having to move the wooden bench which was in the way. The soap dispensers adjacent to the wash hand basins were empty after 2 days.
Two other campers indicated to me their general dissatisfaction with the overall cleanliness of the toilet block.
The gravel surface on each plot is a damned nuisance. You bring in into the camper van with you each time you enter and I had to brush my mats every day.
I was very surprised that there is still no free wi-wi available especially when taking into consideration that the site is advertised as particularly suitable for families.
