30th November 2012 at 12:00 amThe approach to side farm is very ‘off-road’ and you need to be very aware of walkers. The campsite is situated next to a farm (the clue is in the name) but it is also right next to Ullswater, and the views are absolutely amazing. Dogs and children are both welcome, but there is no on-site entertainment for children (climbing frames etc). There are the usual basic toilets and showers, nothing fancy but they’ve always been clean when we’ve been, and washing machines are also available. There is also a small cafe at the farm which sells cakes etc if you fancy a treat. It is perfectly situated for walkers and has some fantastic scenery close by – including the gorgeous Aira Force waterfall. We have always been made to feel welcome (even with small children!) and wouldn’t hesitate to go back. And we’ve yet to find a campsite with better views.
