So whilst holidaying in any given area why not see if there is a Show, Festival or Event that is worth a visit.
Some shows like the VW Shows, Caravan and Camping Shows may offer camping on site which can be useful. Please check though, if disabled, that there are facilities to accommodate your needs.
A handful of shows are held on campsites but the majority are at show grounds so although toilets are catered for not always are there washing facilities available. For a weekend this is bearable but for any longer this could prove tiresome.
If this is the case we have an endless supply of parks to choose from - try using the radius search to narrow down your closest caravan park or campsite to your Show, Festival or Event.
The music festivals like the V Festival and the Big Chill are great to visit for the younger generation but can also be fun if older please remember though that limited amenities are normally available at the music festivals and it can be rather cramped.
There are the jazz festivals like Jazz in the Park held in Bude that offer a great way of relaxing over a weekend. Many street festivals happen throughout the summer. Agreat one in Herefordshire is the Bromyard Gala held in July and in Newent the Newent Onion Fair held in September both are worth a visit.
There are some great shows to visit the VW Campervan shows like The Mighty Dubfest, Bus Type held at Oswestry at the beginning of the year and many more to choose from. They really are so much fun and being VW enthusiast ourselves we know these events are friendly and welcoming not just to VW owners but everyone alike.
An event is normally something happening in the area like Steam Extravaganza, Cotswold, Gloucestershire or on a particular campsite for the weekend

The Classic Car Show with a range of Classic Cars, Classic Bikes and Classic Trucks on show is a returning esteemed show in Suffolk, Stonham Barns is very proud and thrilled to be hosting for over the past 8 years.

The show is going to be a wonderful day out for all the family with an abundance of things to do and see throughout the day.

Everyone is welcome to come along for the day, whether you are a classic car enthusiast and want to view the beautiful cars, a family wanting to try something different for a day out or someone wanting to show your car for the day, the organisers would love to see you!!
Dogs are welcome on the day as long as they are kept on a lead.

Stonham Barns are excited to be hosting a new joint weekend event with The Knuckle Busters UK Car Club.
This event is for those interested in Rockabilly music and Hot Rodding so there will be all cars that fit those criteria on the showground.
On Saturday night there will be entertainment with live bands and DJ’s in The Barn which has a fully licenced bar.
On Sunday there will be the Show ‘n’ Shine Show so come along, enter your car and see if you can win a trophy or just come along to see the fabulous Hot Rods, Classics, American Cars and Bikes.
There will be a trade area, food court and restaurant, live band and DJ during the day and another great live band in the evening.
Weekend camping is included in weekend ticket price without an electrical hookup.

A New Country and Irish Music Festival is coming to Stonham Barns this year where there will be plenty of music to keep you entertained.
If you enjoy singing and dancing then this is the place to be.
Take a look at this fabulous line up for this exciting new show:
Thursday evening from 7.30pm to 10.30pm there is Brian Mann.
Friday evening from 7.30pm to 11.00pm there will be Jonny & Lynnette plus Kevin Barry.
Saturday afternoon from 2.00pm to 4.45pm there will be Bob Keeley plus Sun of Elvis.
Saturday evening from 7.30pm to 11.30pm there will be Dave Sheriff plus John J and The Pickers.
Sunday afternoon from 2.00pm to 4.45pm there will be the Bill Conlon Duo plus Marie Saunders.
Sunday evening from 7.00pm to 10.30pm there will be The Shawn Cuddy Band plus Brian Mann returns to finish off this event.
There will be plenty of food and drink available throughout the event in the Barn or from the Celtic Kitchen located next to the Barn.
You could start the day with an amazing full English breakfast served from 8am or on Sunday there will be a fabulous carvery lunch available, there will also be other options in between.
Stonham Barns has many other attractions to keep you busy during the festival and if you love Country & Irish Music then come and stay for the whole event.
There is a large camping area for caravans, motorhomes or tents, with electric hook ups if required.

LowCollective German Car Show is back again celebrating its 5th anniversary.
It has continued to grow to host some of the countries best show cars and highest quality traders.
To help celebrate this 5th year we have raised the show and shine to Top 25 giving the chance for more high-quality cars to be rewarded.
All German cars and related models are welcome on the day and they can be original or modified these include VW, Seat, Skoda, Audi, Porsche, BMW, BMW Mini, Mercedes and Smart.
There will be other trophies to be won, raffle prizes, traders, club stands, roll on, roll off stage, food stalls, onsite bar, live entertainment and many other onsite activities including adventure golf, Owl Sanctuary, kids playzone, shopping village and more.
This is a great site with smooth tarmac, well looked after grass area and proper amenities.

Back again due to the success of last year’s event is the Countryside & Falconry Fair which is a show to promote the wide variety of country crafts and pursuits to be found in East Anglia.
Gates open from 10am – 6pm
With arena events including The Medieval Horse & Falconry Spectacular with horses from ‘The Game of Thrones’, Falconry Displays, Dog Agility Teams, Heavy Horses, The Dog & Duck Show, Racing Pigs and more.

Swedefest Truck Show is an annual event that is pleased to be back for its third year at the Mid Suffolk Showground at Stonham Barns Leisure & Retail Village.
This show is a show of just 2 marques Scania and Volvo.
10am - Late Saturday (Truck arrival day).
10am - 4pm Sunday
Last year we had an amazing year with over 240 of the country’s finest Scania and Volvo trucks on display.
We also had some amazing trucks visit us from across the water and showed that nowhere is too far!
There are trophies to be won for each marque and class and also joint trophies.
This Stonham Barns Showground is a self-contained area with well maintained, tended grass, no rough edges making it great for parking.
We have trade stands for you to browse, food available, kids play zone, and disco Saturday night with the bar open in the barn.
If you are into trucks, just come along for a relaxed walk around the trucks and meet the drivers.
Share their passion for the vehicles that deliver all the products and goods we take for granted on a daily basis.
Also enjoy a family day out enjoying everything that Stonham Barns Leisure and Retail Village has to offer.
As a spectator the showground has complete disabled wheel chair access and toilets.
Dogs are welcome at the show as long as they are kept on a leash and their owners clean up after them.

After the success of the 2017 Deepdale Festival, we'll host our second annual music festival at Deepdale Backpackers & Camping over the last weekend of September 2018.
There will be music, spoken word and more across three stages, the campsite, and a secret venue on Deepdale Farm.
There will be more than 20 acts, rock bands, folk duos, solo artists, street performers, poets and more.
Our focus is on home grown talent, bands from Norfolk and the adjoining counties.
You can make your own music in one of the three drum jams during the weekend.

The American Car Show event at Stonham Barns will have a large range of American Cars, American Trucks and American Hot Rods on display for visitors to view.

Due to the success of last year’s newly established American Car Show it is back again this year with a bigger and better show.
All the cars, trucks, hot rods will be parading around the showground hoping to win one of the Show & Shine Trophies.
There will be music throughout the day, traders and stallholders including autojumble and plenty of food and drink.

Come to Stonham Barns for this fantastic one day event celebrating all things Viking and Saxon
Gates open 11.00am. Event ends 8.00pm
There will be over 15 different re-enactment groups from around the country which will descend on the Stonham Barns Showground creating a living history camp made up solely of the Viking and Saxon period – What is referred to as The Dark Age.
These different groups will give an insight into the way of life of Viking and Saxon culture.
You will come across cooking, weaving, leather craft, woodwork, blacksmithing, herbalists, Saga story-telling and rune reading.
Visitors will be able to try some ‘have a go sessions’ such as archery and axe throwing.
All handled under supervision by certified instructors.
Re-enactment displays and battles will take place in the show ring from 12.00pm-17.30pm finishing with a BIG BATTLE 17.30pm-18.15pm
The big outside finale of the day will take place at 18.30pm with a torchlight parade followed by the fantastic spectacle of a Viking Ceremonial Boat burning at 18.45pm.
In The Barn there will be activities taking place throughout the day including screenings of Hollywood Viking themed films, local interest Dark Age films, Dark Age Fashion Show, talks on weaving, way of life, demos and crafts, live folk music and children’s activities including face painting and shield, sword and helmet making with cardboard.
The bar will be open from 12.00pm through to the event finish at 8.00pm.
Refreshments, barbecue, hot food and drinks will be available throughout the day.
