Pitch Type

There are many different pitch types from tents to motorhomes and caravan touring pitches.

These may vary in size, as there are no regulations on a pitch size, but it should be large enough for a regular family tent or caravan. Some caravans and tents are very large so you should notify them when you book, so they can allocate you the right size area, but you may be charged for a double pitch. Please check with the site or park if you wish to take the large tents or a caravan over 25 ft in length.

Trailor Tents and Folding Caravans - most sites and parks accept these units.

Please check on the groundsheet rule as some insist on breathable ground covers and in our experience, these ground covers are kinder on the environment and do not kill the grass.

RV Friendly sites - due to the size of American RV’s and Winnebagos you may find restrictions on some parks. Normal size RVs are usually allowed but please check before booking.

At  Campsite Finder Online we have found sites and parks that accept these units and there are, so far 145 Parks that accept RVs.

Some Parks offer a choice of hard standing pitches or grass, both have their uses. They are used for caravans and motorhomes for a more a level pitching ground. If using an awning, remember to take sturdy tent pegs for gravel and hard surfaces.

In Europe you may find that the rules vary and the pitches are slightly different. Some offer Pre-Erected tents which are ready and waiting for you to arrive - all that you would need to take is bed linen and towels. All cooking utensils are supplied. Many offer Yurts and Tipis and some offer Safari Tents for the ultimate Glamping experience.
