Information about Suffolk

Some information about Suffolk from Campsite Finder Online, your online guide to camping and caravanning.

If you enjoy walking, whether a leisurely stroll or more of a hike, then you won’t be disappointed in Suffolk. From the Brecks to the Sandlings and from the Broads to the estuaries, Suffolk is a county best explored on foot, from a bicycle or on the back of a horse. With over 5,000km of waymarked paths, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, long distance footpaths and national cycle routes, Suffolk offers a wealth of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors.

Why not visit the English Heritage Framlingham Castle, which was built by Bigod, the second Earl of Norfolk, in about 1190. The castle changed hands on several occasions and was, at one time, in the possession of Mary Tudor, where she waited during the summer of 1553 for the results of the query over the succession, following the death of her brother, Edward VI. Or the ancient anglo saxon burial site of Sutton Hoo and explore the hauntingly beautiful 103-hectare (255-acre) estate, with far-reaching views over the river Deben.
