Sandycove ecSTATIC at National Caravan Council Seal of Approval
Sandycove Holiday Homes Ltd joins an elite group of only 11 companies in the United Kingdom who can boast National Caravan Council Approval.
Sandycove has been recently been recognised as an approved static caravan distributor under the National Caravan Council (NCC) Approved Holiday Home Distributor Scheme.
Not only does this make the company the first and only accredited static caravan distributor in Northern Ireland, but Sandycove is also one of only 11 companies in the United Kingdom who can boast National Caravan Council Approval.
The NCC Approved scheme, designed to improve consumer protection, seeks to recognise companies offering exceptional standards in the supply, aftersales, warranty and maintenance service of new and pre-owned static Caravan Holiday Homes.
J J Kennedy, Director of Sandycove Holiday Homes Ltd said “The road to achieving the NCC approval has being long and testing. We began the process in November 2011 and we are ecstatic that all of our hard work has finally paid off. The scheme is not designed to ensure compliance with the many laws that affect the caravan business; it demonstrates our desire to go above and beyond, in order to ensure our customers’ expectations are met.”
One of the core elements of the scheme is a new Code of Practice which establishes a benchmark for industry best practice and standards which are monitored and policed on an ongoing basis to ensure that approved companies continuously strive to uphold the high requirements of the scheme.
Achieving NCC Approval signifies that Sandycove Holiday Homes Ltd. has demonstrated a conscious and tangible commitment to protect the interests of both existing and potential customers. The main principles of the Code are to:
• Treat consumers fairly
• Provide greater consumer protection and rights than required by law
• Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction
• Ensure consumer access to low cost independent redress
JJ Kennedy from Sandycove Holiday Homes Ltd. was presented with their NCC Approved Distributor signage by Michael Knowles, Chairman of the Caravan Holiday Homes Section Committee, at the National Caravan Council Conference in Hinkley, England, earlier this month.
JJ continued, “We see this as a real ‘feather in our cap’. It sets us apart from the other static caravan distributors in the industry and signifies a mark of quality. Our NCC Approved sign now sits proudly at the entrance to our Head Office. Whilst business conditions have been particularly difficult over the last few years, our determination to achieve this approval shows we have not been complacent. We have actively sought out opportunities to improve our business practises.”
It has been a turbulent couple of years for the caravan industry in Northern Ireland starting with the introduction of the Caravans Act in March 2011 and followed by the ‘VAT on Caravans’ campaign of May 2012. However, for Sandycove and their customers, the timing of the NCC Approval is perfect, with the summer months coming up and holiday plans beginning to take shape. The NCC Approved Holiday Home Distributor Scheme enables Sandycove Holiday Homes to offer an extra satisfaction guarantee that there is no better place in Northern Ireland to buy a top of the range, quality static caravan.
