Carreglwyd is a busy, beach-side Park on the South Gower Coast, overlooking the picturesque village and Bay of Port Eynon. The fifteen acre site is surrounded by steep cliffs to one side and magnificent coastline on the other, and accommodates caravans, motorhomes and tents of all sizes in five well-drained and maintained fields.
The 300 pitches are non-marked or specified, enabling visitors to choose their own spot in relation to the facilities and the beach.
Two modern sanitary blocks serve the Park which comprise of toilets, showers, laundry and dish-washing areas. All daily needs are catered for at the on-site shop; groceries, camping accessories, hardware, beach goods and off-licence as well as gas bottles and appliances.
Direct access to the beach makes this the perfect location for families, particularly those with young children.
The beach has lifeguard cover during the summer months, and the bay is ideal for bathing, fishing and a variety of water sports.
Note May to September, dogs are only allowed on the beach between the large white posts on either side of the bay but are allowed over the sand dunes.
The Gower Peninsula is little more than fifteen miles long and five miles wide, and is unique; the coastal scenery is unsurpassed -rugged limestone cliffs and rock-bound shores alternate withsplendid sandy bays, each with its own characteristic and individual allure.

Had a fab weekend . After The negative reviews we thought we were going to have a weekend of nagging from the owners but actually couldn't do enough for us . Took 3 families to our 3 pitches with a friendly face also we could see that he was very busy so allowed for not a lot of chatting.
One of the girls fell and had a nasty cut , the owner gave us plasters at no cost and showed concern . They both came around for a chat on the Sunday and found them to be friendly .
We were on the beach on the Saturday just a few yards down off the site and a coastal walk the next day . The views are amazing .just what we needed for a calm but atmospheric weekend . Can't wait to go back

Amazing location - Staff have a huge amount of attitude. Even told a 13 year old too bugger off whilst waiting for the shop to reopen whilst they ate their tea

I have stayed at this site twice before. The owners have always been rude and obnoxious but I've never really needed them for anything so just stayed out their way. The location is perfect which is the attraction. Right on the beach. I recently rang to book again for two couples and was rudely informed I am not allowed to stay as I don't not have children with me. I totally understand the desire for a quiet family atmosphere and that is part of the attraction, but as I and my partner tried explaining to her, we are a couple in our 30s and 40s. We want quiet base for a weekend of walking. It was not the rule that upset me but her attitude and smugness. I was fuming by the time I got off the phone to her which is so out of character for me. I was just astonished by her rudeness and in my opinion, people like that don't deserve the trade. I know they have the right to refuse anyone but there are ways of speaking to people. Common courtesy costs nothing.

Just returned from a long weekend at this beautiful campsite. What an excellent job the owner Rob, his wife and the campsite wardens make on keeping it spotless, even when full, the showers are always clean, with plenty of soap, loo paper and if you forget anything at all, the shop will have it - or if not then they will try for you. Fantastic position, right on the beach, children have room to play safely, even when full - only vehicles are allowed to drive on/off the site and it's mainly families. Surfers have a wetsuit shower, brillant and if no surf in Horton there will be off the point. If you have a tent, then the bottom field if brillant, little bit extra to walk for a shower but look at the view. Dogs on leads, free doggy bags at shop. Worth the visit, once there you dont need the car, you have spotless campsite, sea views, shop, chip shop and a pub. Great walks also on coastal paths !

Stayed here just before the summer. Love the site so close to the beach no need to use the car. shower block was kept clean and plenty of essential items in the campsite shop which was suprising asit was so small. will be back again next year.

We stayed at Carreglwyd Camping & Caravan Park at port Eynon this May 1st Bank Holiday.
The Camping and Caravan Park is a beautiful site situated on Port Eynon Beach.
The views are stunning and the site was maintained to a very high standard..
Toilets and showers were cleaned regulary and was nice to have free hot showers and hairdryers for the ladies.
There was a lovely atmosphere on the site and so nice to see children playing and entertaining themselves, with ball games and such like.
The site shop is well stocked with everything you could possibly need for you stay even those essential items that you forgot like us being torches.
The sun came out on the Saturday which was an unexpectected suprise.
There are no marked out pitches you simply finf a spot and pitch up.
Some nice level pitches and also sloping pitches which dosn't really matter if you have a caravan.
Thank you for a lovely stay.
