There are many campsites & caravan parks in Brittany, but Le Boterff, Brittany, offers much more than just a place to park your caravan or motor home. It is an immaculately maintained touring campsite with space for up to 6 vans. Facilities include Hardstanding or grass pitches, Electric points, Fresh water points, hot showers, WCs, Washing Up Facilities, Washing Machine, Chemical disposal point (Organic), Re-cycling point, Information room, Library, Games, Toys, Garden furniture, Barbecue.
Food & Drink
For lovers of French cuisine, you can linger over your meal in a wide choice of restaurants or just relax with a coffee, beer or glass of wine in a street café and watch the world go by.
Sailing, swimming and water sports
Only ten minutes drive away, is the stunning Lac de Guerledan, where you can swim or enjoy many other water sports. Pedalos, boats and canoes can all be hired, or maybe take a cruise around this beautiful lake or visit the lakeside bars, restaurants or creperie. Fishing, walking, or cycling along the banks of the lake or the Nantes / Brest canal are all nearby.
There are a number of excellent swimming pools, in the area, both indoor and outdoor.
Coastlines North, South & West
All three of Brittany’s coastlines are accessible for day trips from Le Boterff, the furthest being west in approx. 2 hours and all on quiet roads. The ruggedness of the Pink Granite and Emerald coast or sandy beach at Binic all to the north or Guidel Plage, Concarneau, Carnac & Quiberon to the south.
There are many challenging courses in superb countryside, including at nearby St Brieuc or Pontivy.
Villages, Towns and Places of Historic and Cultural Interest
The Abbey at Bon Repos and the Chateau Forges des Salles are 15 minutes from Le Boterff. Other Chateaux, pretty villages and walled towns of historic and cultural interest, such as Pontivy or Josslin are all easy to reach. Many towns and villages such as Quintin, Pontivy or Rostrenen have markets, where you can sample local produce and crafts and Mur de Bretagne has a Friday evening summer market.
The medieval walled town of Dinan is an hours drive from Le Boterff. Here you can browse around the interesting shops and squares within the town, and walk down the ancient winding pathway to the quay side, where there is an abundance of typical French cafes looking over the water.
The famous tourist attraction of Mont St Michel is only one and a half hours drive to the north east. It is well worth following the path which leads through the maze of houses, cafes and shops, to the monastery at the summit of the rock, to capture the breathtaking views. A guided tour in English is available for those who are fascinated by French history.
There are many rivers and a number of other small lakes in the area , all well stocked and with fishing permits readily available from a number of outlets. Anglers can enjoy their sport in very pleasant surroundings.
Cycling & Walking
Keen walkers, ramblers and cyclists can enjoy many miles of trails and paths, all within easy reach.
