Probably the best site I have camped in. Lots of space on a hot weekend during the summer school holidays and toilets and showers were never crowded and always clean. There are two great pubs within 3 minutes of the site and a lovely wood within the camp grounds. I walked through the woods on my first night and whilst sitting on a well-placed bench overlooking the nearby fells and mountains caught site of dear walking across the open pasture in the evening sun. Perfect. my only complaint was the lack of a shop for breakfast and milk. There are very few shops in the area and those that I did find only had weekly deliveries so a camp shop would have been useful. some may not like the Quiet rule after 11.00 but after a day in the hills it suited us.
