Details

Newberry Valley is an AA FIVE PENNANT, family-run site in an ideal coastal location on the edge of Combe Martin village in North Devon. The site entrance is no more than five minutes' walk from the beaches, pubs, and village shops.

This delightful dog-friendly touring & camping park sits in a picturesque valley with 110 sheltered pitches for tents, caravans and motor homes.

Awarded a Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award for over 8 consecutive years, the site prides itself on its abundance of birds and wildlife. With a strong “green” ethic, owners Martin & Dawn Fletcher are keen to protect and enhance the natural beauty of the site and have installed a modern efficient eco-system to heat the water for the showers and the under floor heating.

The park facilities include:-
~ Heated luxuriously spacious shower rooms
~ Individually controlled showers to suit the temperature you want
~ Large heated washrooms with toilet
~ Well-fitted disabled facilities
~ Coin-operated heated bathroom
~ Large laundry area with folding area & free iron available
~ Easy to use Miele washing machines & tumble driers
~ Vanity area with free hairdryer available
~ Useful baby changing surface & nappy bin
~ Spacious indoor dish-washing area
~ Mini-kitchenette area with fridge & microwave
~ Drying area for hikers
~ Outside wash area to swill over dogs, bikes and wetsuits
~ Recycling bins for plastics, glass, tins, cardboard & paper
~ Chemical waste disposal points

Newberry Valley has a wooden play area for children aged 12 and under. On-site there is also a two acre coarse fishing lake, with permits available no matter what your level of expertise and you can enjoy a walk though the ancient oak woodland.

The local beaches, five minutes away by foot, are pebbly/rocky with sand as the tide goes out: they are absolutely great for exploring, discovering and playing in the caves and rock pools. And for some stunning countryside, it is only a short drive to the rugged moors of Exmoor National Park.

Open from March to end of October, this campsite is perfect for a relaxing coastal holiday, offering peace in a rural environment... a true gem for those who love the great outdoors.

We know how your time is precious. That’s why we work hard to make absolutely sure that you take home some wonderful memories of your holiday in North Devon.

We stayed at this site in June 2012. Despite the horrible weather we really enjoyed our week there. Beach and shops very near and lovely coastal walks from the site. The site was very quiet in beautiful surroundings. Staff very helpful and friendly. Toilet facilities very clean and your very own bathroom. Excellent.

Wow what a fantastic site. We have camped for 20 years all over Britain and this is the best we have had the pleasure of staying on. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Site is well maintained. Toilet block is amazing very clean and modern. Had lovely views of surrounding hills. Was a short walk into Coombe Martin with plenty of good places to eat and drink. I would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing break. Was well worth our 1,000 mile round trip to get here. Thanks

We recently stayed for a long weekend, and had a lovely stay. It's a beautiful site, with a wonderful position. I enjoy being able to walk so easily to the beach, and the facilities are so clean and comfortable.

i would never stay at this camp site again.

very expensive, but the grass surfaces are not flat enough (tilted, like sleeping

on a hill!!!) so was an uncomfortable nights sleep. Also there were loud animals

noises all night, apparently from the wolf farm that they keep...

also cars just drive straight past your tent, which i found worrying.

the toilet facilities you would expect to be amazing because of the new build

facilities they have had put in. but there were no shampoo or soap dispensers

provided, and the same applied to the laundry room, there were no dispensers for

washing powers, etc. so although nice looking facilities, they were chocka block

full of people, so be prepared to queue, and then be rushed out like a production

line.

i also found the staff to be very miserable and militant! not relaxed at all.

when they want you out, you better go (after they get your money)!

also the only view you have from this site is of other tents, cars and caravans,

nothing glamorous like cliffs and rolling hills as the website suggests! don't

expect a sea view!

and boring as hell to, there are no provisions for socializing whatsoever!

so this campsite is good if you like a militant army regimented feel, with no

soap dispensers anywhere, a warden who is meant to be on at night but is not, and

having cars driving past your tent...

horrible experience, and never again.

there are plenty campsites a 2 min walk further from coombe martin, that i shall

visit next time!
