Tarka Holiday Park is situated in the centre of this magnificent location, close to the centre of the unique 180 mile figure of eight walkway and cycle path, the Williamson inspired Tarka Trail.
North Devon is such an experience, for a few days break or a relaxing holiday, we will be delighted if you join us, staying on our holiday park.
Facilities on the Park include a fully licensed Clubhouse, serving a select menu either eating in-house or take-away. Light entertainment two or three times weekly (dependant on season).
A children's adventure park for the younger ones, a small amusement arcade and for the 'under12's' the ever popular Bouncy Castle.
Families can challenge their talents on the pitch and putt course followed by a round of crazy golf, alternatively explore the wonderful countryside - bike hire is available on site.
Take a leisurely walk on the Saxon Track in the Park, leading to the small hamlet of Ashford with it's attractive Church dating back to medieval times.
In the pretty landscaped grounds our Holiday Park offers you a choice of luxury and budget caravan units, serviced touring sites and extensive camping facilities. Shower and toilet blocks, laundrette and public telephone.
Yes - we are certainly 'pet friendly' and can accept well behaved doggies. Certain grades of caravans can accommodate pets, we also have a designated exercise area.
Supermarkets are within easy reach of the Holiday Park, our on-site shop, located in the Reception area, carries items for everyday needs. Our ladies of the Park (chickens to be precise!) are still happily laying their eggs. You will find these on sale in the shop.
New for 2009
Tarka has electric his and her bikes for hire.
Tarka can now boast it has the most modern, integrated and attractive pedal-assist electric bike on the market. For modern aesthetes, aspiring eco-enthusiastic commuters and folks who crave the fun of bike riding without doing much of the work, The Giant's Twist Freedom DX hits the mark. A true hybrid, the Twist has no throttle. It relies on both pedal power and an unobtrusive yet sturdy 300-watt motor to set you on your way.
Giant's designers parlayed the bike's modern commuter vibe into two saddlebag-borne removable Li-ion batteries. These power sources fit vertically inside the bags and will provide a whopping 70-mile range over flat and somewhat rolling terrain while in Economy mode. So you can enjoy the scenery on the Tarka Trail all long without the strain.
No petrol, No parking problems, No traffic queues.
For just £40 (booked in advance) or £25 each bike hired on the day will give you a holiday experience to be remembered. As access to the Williamson inspired Tarka Trail is only across the road from the park. This unique 180 mile figure of eight walkway and cycle path offers our visitors the opportunity to explore and discover the meandering river ways of the Taw and the Torridge. To travel will ease through rolling farmland and wild moor land, or just picnic on the rugged coastline and sandy bays.
Tarka Holiday Park offers a full and comprehensive range of sizes for cycle hire. We chose to use 'Giant' cycles, because Giant bicycles are recognized globally for their extraordinary achievement in quality and performance.
We also have buggies
These child trailers are ideal for 9 month plus kids or younger babies secured into the trailer in a child seat. The main advantage of a trailer is that you can fit up to two 4 year olds comfortably, sheltered from the wind and rain.
Which is basically a one wheeled attachment which gets towed behind an adult bike. Suitable for 4 to 9 year olds, this allows the child more independence and fulfillment whilst giving the parent peace of mind! and for the more adventures among you, why not try our Tandem.
Tandem cycling is a great way for two people of different abilities to cycle together. So let's dispel any myths surrounding tandems and tandem cycling. For those of you that will be sat on the back don't think you have got an easy ride because you have to pedal too. It is fair to say that with twice the riders comes twice the power, on the flat and down hills. Tandem riding is what you both make of it, for some it's a gentle ride around the country lanes with lunch at your favorite spot, for others, it is the inspiration to set off in search of adventure. People choose to ride tandems for many different reasons and the benefits of tandem riding are numerous, tandem riding is to experience the pleasure of cycling together irrespective of different fitness levels, it is romantic and fun.

We've just spent two weeks at the Tarka Holiday Park with family and friends. Our main reasons for choosing the the park were it's great location - close to the Tarka Trail as we are all keen cyclists. We could even hire bikes for the kids. All in all - a great family holiday.

Not bad-but caravn was tired looking-but clean. ripped seats,mouldy blind,odd mugs,stained duvet.
Very noisy as right by the main road-traffic woke me up each morning.
No shop as advertised. No games room or arcade-Its shut down.
Couldn't do the golf as recetionw as shut and couldn't get the clubs when we wanted them.
Club house only does burger/nuggets/fish and chips and baguettes. doesn't open till 7pm so no good for families with small children.
Nice play area for under 12's,slide etc.
You have to cross a busy road to get to the tarka trail which is not nice to do with th little children-but lovely once you get over.
